I’m a wife, a mom, a writer, an extremely deep thinker, a woman who asks a lot of questions, and a redhead with a little restrained feistiness. (Some days more restrained than others!)
I love to laugh, I love deeply, and I love a good conversation, especially the kind that starts with something simple and somehow ends up somewhere neither of us expected.
My husband, Adrian, is truly the love of my life. When he became part of my story, I was deeply broken, and he has loved me through some of the hardest and most complicated parts of who I am. He knows the good, the bad, and the ugly, and somehow, he still chooses to walk through life with me. (And believe me, that man has seen some things!) What I treasure most is that we’re walking the same road, seeking Jesus together while continuing to grow in our individual relationships with Him. We have five children, and motherhood has been one of the most meaningful, challenging, and refining parts of my life. Our family story hasn’t always been simple, and there are still things we’re navigating, but our love for our children is real. And then there are our fur babies! Our dogs and cat have their own special places in my heart, along with their very distinct personalities.
But more important to me than anything else I’ve shared is Jesus. I am who I am because of Him. He is Faithful and True, the Lover of my soul, the One who knows me more intimately than anyone ever could, and the One who has overwhelmingly loved me through every chapter of my life. He has pursued my heart into the deepest, darkest places, even when I couldn’t imagine how I would ever find my way out. I see my life as an intimate dance with Him, learning to trust His leading even when I can’t quite find my footing. I haven’t always followed gracefully, but Jesus has never failed me. And as much as I love dancing with Him, I always find myself returning to His feet, bowing before Him with a heart full of adoration, worship, and prayer.
“I haven’t always followed gracefully, but Jesus has never failed me.”
I am a Lady Warrior. I believe the Holy Spirit gave me that name long before I could have understood what it would come to mean. I’ve always had a warrior’s heart, and I’ve spent more time on my knees than anyone will ever know. There have been battles I’ve fought fiercely, others I’ve had to surrender, and some I’m still walking through with Jesus. And if there’s one thing I know about myself, it’s that I’m not one to give up easily.
I’ve believed things with my whole heart that I later discovered weren’t true. I’ve wrestled with questions I never imagined I’d ask, gone back to Scripture, and found myself having to reconsider things I’d accepted for years. Sometimes that’s been uncomfortable, and sometimes it’s been downright unsettling. But I keep asking, keep searching, and keep returning to His Word. I certainly don’t have everything figured out, but there’s something wonderful about those moments when a truth I’ve wrestled with suddenly begins to make sense, especially when I realize that what God actually said isn’t quite what I’d always believed He said.
Writing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Sometimes it’s a story, sometimes poetry, sometimes a thought or question that simply won’t leave me alone. Music has a way of stirring something deep within me, too, and I love the beauty of discovering how words, melodies, and stories can come together in ways I never anticipated. I don’t always know where those creative threads will lead, but I love following them, and I’m excited to see what God has yet to unfold.
“There’s always more to the story.”
And that’s a little of who I am. There are plenty of stories I haven’t told, questions I’m still asking, and things I’m still discovering. But if you spend any time here, you’ll probably find that Jesus has a way of showing up in just about everything I share. He’s woven into every part of my story, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So, welcome! I’m glad you’re here. Pull up a chair, grab a latte, and stay awhile.
There’s always more to the story.
